Rosemary has led succesful campaign to save car park

-

I was disappointed to find that yet again Councillor Stuart Bray is trying to gain points by accusing the Conservative County Council candidate Rosemary Wright of campaigning to bring parking charges in for residential roads, which of course is not true. She is campaigning for onstreet parking in residential areas for residents permits only and is well documented in The Hinckley Times as being prepared to fight to stop any idea of parking meters anywhere in Hinckley.

When she was a Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Councillor she was responsible for one of the best town Christmas lights displays ever (getting an award for the best Christmas lights in the East Midlands, the only time the council has ever achieved this award). She has also, with the Hinckely and District Chamber of Trade, led a successful campaign to save the Co-op carpark and is a governor of John Cleveland College. Whatever she does she always throws herself into it.

If he wants to attack the Conservatives, he might try using the truth. The county council have made no decisions about parking meters or residents parking permits and it has been considered for two years as Stuart Bray knows, a cynic might say why bring it up now? Blatant scaremongering.

If the Liberal Democrats are so concerned about the population why are they trying to undermine the democratic decision of the people of Britain for Brexit?

Rosemary Wright has for years worked hard for the town in many ways and doesn’t deserve these baseless attacks. David J Beck Hinckley
