Art show invites visitor input
AN INNOVATIVE art exhibition in the Atkins Gallery in the Atkins Building on Lower Bond Street promises pieces in both two and three dimensions, with visitor participation encouraged.
Alchemy, a Rugbybased group of amateur and professional artists, will be staging their eponymous exhibition from March 25 to April 22.
There will be works in oils, acrylics, lino print, ceramics and even knitting, including portraiture, figurative work, sculpture and landscape.
One exhibit will comprise 100 small figures depicting people of all ages.
Another, group exhibit will invite visitors to touch, move and change it according to their response to the theme Things are getting better - Things are getting worse.
Artists will be in the gal- lery to discuss their work on each Friday and Saturday duirng the show from 10am until 2pm.
Alchemy comprises five women and four men, three of whom are professional artists.
Among them, Eric Gaskell is known for his book illustrations, Martin Valentine has a portrait commission hanging in Oxford University and Jackie Terrrett exhibits widely.
