Sewage scheme for village

A half million pound scheme to extend and reconstruct the Mill Lane sewerage works at Earl Shilton was accepted by the urban district council (UDC) at its meeting on Tuesday night.

The scheme would take all the sewage from Earl Shilton, Barwell and Stoke Golding.

The other part of the UDC’s sewage problem will be dealt with at the April meeting of the Estates Committee when Sir Arnold Waters, head of a firm of consulting engineers will be present to discuss what is to be done about the Sketchley sewage works.
