MPs should have one job only

-

NO way should politicians be allowed to take on other jobs.

George Osborne may well be taking on the job of editor of The Evening Standard besides that of MP but there is certainly an issue regarding his standards and those of MPs in general since he seems to have opened up a Pandora’s Box of comment.

And it all comes so soon after these scoundrels, as referred to by many, accepted such a huge pay rise whilst austerity was being imposed on others in the pay sector.

There is absolutely no way I could’ve accepted another job when I was teaching as there wasn’t enough hours in the day to keep up with the paperwork and marking; indeed weekends was the only safety valve. And goodness knows what so many of those on a minimum wage must be thinking about the issue. More especially when you consider so many arrive home shattered after at least an eight hour day in a factory or warehouse.

Now surely it is time not only for MPs to reveal their expenses but also their daily diaries of events.

In other words to be totally accountable to the public as we are the ones who pay for their services.

So often I’m told by persons who work in warehouses for some of the larger supermarkets that they have to account quite literally for every minute of their time. Further there is virtually an enquiry in the event of visiting the toilet twice within an allotted period.

I smell a rat, feeling we are all being taken for a ride by some of these politicians.

No wonder the young are so disillusioned with the whole sordid business.
