Garden centre Easter openings
GARDEN CENTRES will in the main be closed to shoppers on Easter Sunday although some will be opening their restaurants on that day.
Here are the opening times for some centres and nurseries within the borough or within easy driving distance:
Woodlands Wyevale Garden Centre near Stapleton will open normal hours from 9am until 6pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday but will be closed to horticultural and retail trade on Easter Sunday, with only the restaurant open that day, from 10am until 4pm.
Greenacres near Stapleton will be closed on Easter Sunday but open from 9am until 5.30pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank hol- iday Monday.
Sapcote Garden Centre will be closed on Easter Sunday but will open for longer than normal, from 9am until 6pm, on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday.
Sunnyside Garden Centre at Ibstock will be closed on Easter Sunday but open from 9am until 5pm as usual on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday
Beesleys Garden Centre and Nursery, Ravenstone, will be closed on Easter Sunday and open from 8.30am until 5pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday.
Palmers Garden Centre at Ullesthorpe will be closed on Easter Sunday and open from 9am until 5.30pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday.
Palmers Garden Centre at Enderby will be closed on Easter Sunday and open from 9am until 6pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday.
Staunton Harold Nurseries and Garden Centre near Ashby de la Zouch, will be closed on Easter Sunday and open from 8.30am until 5pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and bank holiday Monday.
Dobbies Garden World near Mancetter will be closed on Easter Sunday and open from 9am until 7pm on Good Friday and bank holiday Monday and from 9am until 6pm on Good Friday. THE PHARMACY at Asda on Barwell Lane, Hinckley, will be open on Good Friday and bank holiday Monday for people in need.
It will open from 9am until 6pm on both days, and on Saturday from 8am until 8pm as normal, but will remain closed on Sunday, Easter day.
The NHS is encouraging people to visit their pharmacist for quick, confidential advice on a range of common illnesses, rather than trying to see a GP during the Easter period.
NHS England’s Medical Director for Leicestershire and Rutland, Aly Rashid said: “Pharmacists offer expert, confidential advice and treatment for many minor health problems.
“As most GP surgeries will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, we would like to encourage patients to order any medication they need in plenty of time so they have a good supply during the Easter holiday period.”
Pharmacy opening hours in Leicestershire and Rutland over the bank holidays can be found on www.nhs.uk along with information on walk-in centres, urgent care centres or minor injuries units.
No need to worry if you need DIY supplies over the Easter weekend - the big stores are still open in Hinckley.
B&Q and Screwfix are open as usual, apart from being closed on Sunday, while Wickes has an extended timetable.
