Egg hunts and chocolate top the holiday agenda

Easter events at Belgrave

Hall in Leicester Belgrave Hall and Gardens will be hosting some fun, family events over the schools’ Easter break, as the historic venue’s annual programme of events get underway.

An Easter Animal Day will take place on Wednesday April 12, from 11am until 4pm.

It will feature craft activities, an Easter trail and some special animal visitors to meet. Admission is free, with a £3 charge for crafts.

There will be a chance to Meet the Birds of Prey in the gardens on Saturday, April 15, from 11am-4pm. Kinder Falconry will be on hand to explain the characteri­stics of different birds, and there will be a chance to have photo taken with a falcon for a donation.

And Belgrave Hall will be celebratin­g St George’s Day with an afternoon of storytelli­ng, jousting, dragons and wimples in the gardens on Wednesday April 19. Admission is free, with a charge for some activites.

Cllr Piara Singh Clair, assistant city mayor responsibl­e for culture, heritage, leisure and sport, said: “The schools’ Easter holiday is the perfect time to launch the exciting spring and summer events programme at Belgrave Hall and Gardens.

“The programme of activities at the Hall over the coming months will feature lots more family fun as well as live music, historical talks and the popular annual food fair.

“I’m sure lots of people will take the opportunit­y to enjoy the wonderful historic setting of Belgrave Hall and Gardens.”

Belgrave Hall’s gardens will be open from 11am until 4.30pm every Wednesday and for the first full weekend of each month, until September.

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts, April 14 to 17, at various National Trust properties.

Take part in a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at places like Clent Hills, Baddesley Clinton, Moseley Old Hall, Packwood House, Wightwick Manor and Gardens, Kinver Edge and Coughton Court. For the first time, National Trust properties are asking visitors to prebook the hunts in advance.

Horrible Histories Wicked Warwick live stage show, April 8 to 23,

Warwick Castle The Horrible Histories® Wicked Warwick live stage show returns this Easter, as well as a chance to see two Fish Eagle chicks in twice daily Birds of Prey displays.

There’s also a brand new 3D app which will be free to download and will enable visitors to interact with objects around Warwick Castle as they come to life with animations, sounds, interactiv­e quizzes and taskbased quests. Disney On Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic, April 12 to 16, Genting

Arena A cast of more than 50 Disney characters, including princesses, Anna and Elsa and, of course, Mickey and Minnie will take to the stage to celebrate 100 years of magic.
