New Red Balloon ride opens at Drayton Manor

-

A MIDLANDS theme park has just unveiled its latest ride which will appeal to fans of Thomas the Tank Engine.

The ride is called James and the Red Balloon and it has just been opened at Drayton Manor Park.

The new addition marks further expansion to the thriving theme park and will join the host of other rides and attractions in Drayton Manor’s much loved Thomas Land.

Based on the beloved Thomas and Friends character, the ride features James and his cheeky antics with a hot air balloon. Families can fly up, up and away in their very own balloon and enjoy extensive views of the park from the ride’s highest points.

William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor Park, said: “We’re all really looking forward to welcoming our visitors for the new season and unveiling this fantastic addition to Thomas Land.

“As a family we’re committed to ensuring each season is bigger and better than ever before and we hope James and the Red Balloon will thrill both the young and the young at heart.

“Our staff have been working so hard to ensure the season starts successfully and we can’t wait to open our gates to welcome new and existing visitors for a fun and memorable day out.”

From family favourites in Thomas Land, to white knuckle rides like Apocalypse and G-Force, plus gentler classics like the Buffalo Coaster and the Flying Dutchman; there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

What’s more the 15 acre on-site zoo will this year be welcoming a whole host of new and exciting creatures including red panda, sulawesi crested macaques, bearded lizards, golden headed lion tamarins and some very cute dik diks, just to name a few.

Visitors travelling from further afield can enjoy a night at the four-star Drayton Manor Hotel, which has 150 bedrooms, including executive rooms, presidential suites and 15 Thomas and Friends themed family bedrooms, sure to give you a comfortable night’s sleep.

The 2017 season runs until October 26, with the Firework Spectacular weekend taking place on October 27-29.

The award winning Magical Christmas event will be on selected dates from November 18 to December 31.
