Practice makes perfect as Dan takes top spot

-

After three years of hard work, Barwell’s Dan Stamper, 22, finally took his first win in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 championship which runs as part of the British Superbikes series.

The first round of the year was at Donington Park circuit over the weekend of March 31.

Having qualified for the feature race in eighth position, it was clear that winning was going to be a challenge.

Dan got off to a strong start, falling back to tenth before finishing the first lap in sixth.

Showing his experience and talent, Dan steadily worked his way through the next two riders, engaging in a top three battle from lap six onwards.

Towards the end of lap 10, Dan made a brave move to overtake Tom Oliver taking the lead in the race for the first time.

While Oliver and third place Davey Todd attempted to make a move, Dan managed to hold on to the top spot for the duration of the 14 lap race to record his first victory.

Coming in off-track, an ecstatic Dan said. “It is an amazing feeling to finally be on that top step of the podium.

“Me and my family have worked so hard for this moment for the last three years, it’s all starting to pay off now.

“Of course, the added support of Moran Logistics and my other sponsors has helped us to put together a complete, race winning team, and I am looking to carry this form through for the rest of the season.”

Dan and his Allied Racing team are back in action at Brands Hatch, Kent over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
