Workshop boost for good cause

-

A Hinckley charity has fitted a new sanding workshop to enable more furniture to be restored by volunteers looking to boost their skills.

Work Link, which sells furniture and electrical goods from it’s The Borough shop. used funding from Santander to build the new workshop at its premises on Jacknell Road, Hinckley.

Volunteers will be able to use the new facility to learn refurbishing, repair, upholstery and painting skills.

A spokesman for the charity said: “These activities provide a range of development opportunities to volunteers, many of whom may have learning or health issues.

“Furthermore the refurbishment of a range of tables, chairs and general furniture enables items that may have otherwise gone to landfill to be brought back to a useable condition.

“Worklink is extremely grateful to Santander Bank for their generous funding towards this important resource to the charity.”

If anyone is interested in learning more about the activities of Work Link, please contact Eleanor Freeman on (Hinckley) 636506 or visit the shop in The Borough, Hickley.
