Charity hair cut raises £1,500

A TEENAGER who lost her locks for two very special causes is celebratin­g after raising more than £1,500.

Jodie Phillips, aged 15, had her 20-inch long tresses snipped to benefit Combat Stress.

Children’s cancer charity The Little Princess Foundation also gained with the shorn hair being donated to make wigs for youngsters undergoing treatment.

The teenager wanted to raise awareness of PTSD, a condition suffered by her father Scott an ex-servicemen who is using the services of Combat Stress.

More than £1,000 was raised through Jodie’s justgiving page, a whopping 200% boost on her original target of £500, the rest coming from donations through family, friends and well-wishers.

The sponsored snip took place at The Gallery Salon in Clifton Way Hinckley.

Scott said he was really proud of Jodie and was delighted with the money raised.
