Round up of the latest results in the Sunday League

-

SPORTING Dynamo confirmed themselves champions of the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division with a 4-0 win over Stoke Golding which sees them retain their trophy in convincing style.

It’s been a fabulous last four seasons for Sporting with two runners-up spots followed by two titles.

Market Bosworth 2000 bowed out of the league in style after 17 years with a 5-1 win that saw them avoid bottom spot on the last day of the season.

They conceded a penalty within the first few minutes after centre back Chris Plant tipped the ball over the bar.

Phil Holdsworth then pulled out a fantastic save from the penalty.

Bosworth then took the lead through a Tom Alesbrook header at the back post.

It was soon 2-0 as Calum Duncan capitalised on a defensive error to bundle the ball into the bottom corner.

Chris Plant then made it 3-0 just after the break, getting on the end of a corner.

Tom Alesbrook then made it four after running past the defence and coolly sliding into the bottom corner. Danny Bell then crashed the bar with a 25 yard volley which rebounded nicely to the Big Dane, Toby Hamburger, who got his first ever goal in English Sunday League football.

Chris Plant then converted a Duke cross into his own goal with the last kick of the game to cap off an eventful game for him.

They had gone down in the week to FC Topps who won 4-1 through goals from Adam McNally (3) and Kyle Newall which sees Topps in good position to gain the runners up spot.

In the Printing Works Division 3 Barlestone Athletic completed their league fixtures with a 5-4 at home to Stoke Golding Reserves.

The goals were shared around with Josh Appleby, Frank Armsden, Liam Buskin, Daniel Collings and Will Kirkland Bell all on the score sheet.

The Presidents Shield saw Thurlaston Magpies book their place in the final after a disappointing league season winning 6-1 at Holywell.

The consolation from Holywell coming from Paul Carnell on 27 minutes.

FC Topps Reserves are also through and are looking to reach their second final of the season after they saw off Plough Inn.

Ben Adams, Tom Haines and Matthew Pratt gave them a 3-0 lead and, despite Plough scoring a consolation near the end Topps Res, won through 4-2 on aggregate.

They will face Weavers Power in the Quarter Final after Weavers beat AFC Barn 7-3.

The game was started well by Weavers with lots of early pressure, although Barn nearly had an early lead through a shot that hit the bar, Weavers then upped the pressure and had goals from Danny Simmons (2), Danny Gee and a 40 yard rocket from Tommy Dale from a free kick before Danny Simmons completed a first half hat trick, between a goal from the penalty spot for the Barn.

The second half was a little different and with Barn coming out fired up inside the first 10 minutes, they scored to take it to 2-5 before Leon Simmons hit a scoring effort inside the area, Barn again took the initiative and scored again before skipper Andy Courtney hit a scissor shot to complete the scoring for Weavers Power.

Scorers for AFC Barn were Steve Billings and Damien Haswell (2).
