Two car road accident

FIRE crews removed a car door to free people trapped following a two vehicle smash near Magna Park.

The incident happened at around 5.40pm on Saturday at Mere Lane Bittesby. Emergency services were called with three fire and rescue teams sent out from stations in Lutterworth, Hinckley and Rugby.

A fire service spokesman said they removed a door to carry out an assessment on the people inside one of the vehicles.

Three walking wounded were helped out from the rear of the vehicle with one man taken to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and a woman to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
