Feast of food in store for everyone atweekend

A POPULAR food festival is returning to Hinckley this Bank Holiday weekend.

Feast Hinckley, which has been organised by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Hinckley BID and Event Inspire, is on from Saturday until Bank Holiday Monday.

It promises to be the biggest and best food festival in Hinckley town centre yet, with a large array of local, regional, national and internatio­nal food vendors offering their wares across Market Place, Castle Street and Argents Mead.

The food lovers event, which runs from 10am to 4pm each day of the festi- val will offer demonstrat­ions from chefs in a special demo kitchen in Argents Mead along with free musical entertainm­ent and plenty of activities to keep children happy along with a huge array of delicious foods and drinks to tempt every palate.

There will be an inflatable assault course open from 11am-3pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for just £1, Smudgy the Clown will be entertaini­ng children and there will be Music in the Mead performanc­es in Argents Mead bandstand on Saturday from 1pm-3pm and on Sunday and Monday from 2pm-4pm. Food and drink traders confirmed so far are: Coffee Rio, Ponchinell­os, Elbow Room, FAB Noodle, Rossini Restaurant, Eat Lean, The Ginger Barista, Hettie’s Homemade, Homemade by Linda, Beth Bakes, JKM Hot Potatoes, Pick’s Organic, Mexibros, The Old Brick Café, Taste d’Vibez Jerk Chicken, Riverford Organic fruit and veg, Savannah Catering, Fowlers Forest Dairies, Love Food, Hate Waste, Springfiel­d Catering, The Bakewell Tart, The Baron, The Tipple Truck, Sainsbury’s and The Pork Society with more traders being added every day.

Visitors are reminded that parking is free all day on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday in all of Hinckley’s council-run car parks.

This year’s Feast will feature Hinckley bars and restaurant­s including Ponchinell­os, Elbow Room, FAB Noodle and

Rossini’s as well as the town’s Market and Farmer’s Market traders who will be showcasing the very best in local produce and delicious dishes.

The event has also attracted interest from regional, national and internatio­nal street food
