New season in store for music club
HINCKLEY Music Club is embarking on its 54th concert season.
A programme of four concerts between June and December will begin with a piano recital by James Willshire at Holy Trinity Church, Hinckley on June 17 - see page 26.
The same venue will host a recital by pianist Luke Jones on October 14 and a recital by baritone Michael Dewis on November 25.
On December 16 St Catherine’s Church in Burbage will be the setting for a concert by award-winning Nuneaton youth choir Cantablile.
It will be the club’s first full season under the chairmanship of Philip Worley, who took over from former, longserving chairman Nigel Allcoat.
Mr Worley, who is also chairman of St Mary’s Arts (Smarts) which hosts recitals at St Mary’s Church in Hinckley, said he was looking forward to welcoming musiclovers to the HMC events.
