Tredinnick backs beer, brewing and pubs support
THE CONSERVATIVE Parliamentary hopeful campaigning for votes in Bosworth has pledged his support for the borough’s pubs.
David Tredinnick, victor in the last seven General Elections is publicly backing the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) election manifesto.
CAMRA’s 28,680 members in the East Midlands are asking candidates to promote and celebrate Britain’s 1,540 breweries and 50,000 plus hostelries by considering a range of measures to help make a night down the pub more affordable.
Mr Tredinnick has committed to backing breweries, supporting positive action for pubs and representing the interest of patrons - if he wins the majority on June 8.
Beer, brewing and inns support nearly 900,000 jobs and contribute £23.1 billion to the economy annually. CAMRA want to make sure candidates will do their best for the sector during the imminent Brexit negotiations.
Mr Tredinnick said: “As ever, I am proud to speak up for pubs and real ale. I have always enjoyed pubs and regard them as great community assets. They are at the centre of community life in many areas and also provide employment for local people, in many cases giving young people their first experience of the workplace. Our pubs need to be protected and given as much support as possible as they make a huge contribution to the regional and national economies.”
