Party activist on the box
A FORMER Barwell councillor has appeared on BBC One’s The Sunday Politics.
Mathew Hulbert featured on the live East Midlands edition, discussing lowering the voting age and cuts to youth services.
The Liberal Democrat political activist said: “It was an honour to appear on the programme once again and to use the opportunity to speak up on behalf of young people.
“We should be investing in our young people and ensuring all of them, whatever their background or present circumstances, are given the help and resources needed to have a great start in life.”
Mr Hulbert represented Barwell from 2011 to 2015 and is current chair of the Barwell Carnival association and vice chair of Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrats.
Mr Hulbert also gave a talk later that day at Leicester Secular Hall on ‘The Progressive Dilemma: Challenges and Opportunities for the Left’.
