-

A SINGER-songwriter who was the most Googled musician of 2012 will appear at this year’s Godiva Festival.

Now in its 19th year, the free Coventry festival will run from July 7 to July 9.

Last year saw a record 148,000 people flock to the War Memorial Park to see headline acts The Boomtown Rats, The Charlatans and Scouting for Girls.

This year it will be Lucy Spraggan gracing the stage at the UK’s biggest free family music festival.

She appeared on the X Factor in 2012 performing her own song “Last Night”, and since then her audition video has been viewed 35 million times on YouTube.

After she came off the show she immediately signed to Columbia Records.

Lucy has made appearances in some of the most prestigious music venues the UK has to offer, including the O2 Arena, Royal Albert Hall and Manchester Arena, and has also packed out tents at some of the UK’s top festivals including T in the Park and V Festival.

She will appear on the Main Stage before Kate Nash - who had a hit in 2006 with “Foundations” - on the Sunday.

Lucy joins a whole host of talent at this year’s Godiva Festival, with Mallory Knox, Cast and The Stranglers confirmed for Friday night, Tom Clarke, Alabama 3 Acoustic and Example and DJ Wire confirmed for Saturday and The Darkness confirmed for Sunday.
