-

SIMON Coope Karate School members, William Tatham and David Coope were fighting at the Reykjavik International Games in Iceland last weekend.

The trip was fully funded by Icelandic Government and Wadokai England.

William and David were fighting as part of the Wadokai England, the national karate team.

On the Saturday they were invited to train with the Icelandic National Team and the Icelandic coaches were very appreciative at the level of skill they displayed.

The competition on the Sunday was broadcast live on National Icelandic television, which meant people at home were able to watch via a live feed.

Both David Coope and William Tatham took gold in their respective sections.

Sensei David took on Iceland in the final and the final score was 7-1 as David dominated the fight.

William Tatham had a harder time and went 2-0 down before coming back to win 5-4.
