Students to exhibit work
TALENTED and creative students are showcasing their work as part of an exhibition at the Atkins Building in Hinckley.
The colourful display, called F5, will be open to the public from 10am to 2pm each day from Monday June 12 until Wednesday June 28, with a private viewing on Wednesday June 14.
The exhibition will show off a diverse collection of work, which uses a range of visuals and mediums to explore graphic design, interactive media and photography by the students.
The students exhibiting collaborated to explain the show: “Each piece of work is individual to each creative and it is a demonstration of their preferred area of expertise in order to create pieces of visual media to communicate a story, message or feeling which allows for interpretation of each viewer.
“Capturing the world appears second nature to photographers, from looking at the mundane to documenting the world in specific styles.
“The photographers featured in this exhibition look at what is beyond the eye can see, though the use of a variety of techniques.
“Graphic designers will be creating visual communication in response to diverse subjects using images, typography, and mark making combined with innovative execution on different platforms.
“While other individuals use Illustration through a range of media and traditional print methods to communicate certain thoughts and feelings.”
Work on display will include “visually interesting” 3D experiences, and a “non-conformist view on gender stereotyping within interactive gaming”.
