Festival to take place in market square in Atherstone

-

MUSIC lovers are being invited to lend their ears to the popular Atherstone music festival when it returns in August for the fourth year running.

The free festival, held in the market square, will open on Saturday August 5 from 2pm and will showcase the best musical talent form the area.

Organisers of the festival are passionate about supporting musicians and use the event to encourage anyone to stand up on stage and perform.

There will also be food stalls and entertainment for children, including a bouncy castle and face painting.

Bev Earp, chair of the event, said they were keen for musicians to get in touch to perform.

She added: “Like every year, we will be hosting 20 acts on two separate stages - our inflatable domed main stage, and the more intimate Sid Earp acoustic stage.

“Everybody is welcome to perform, so if you have a talent that needs to be heard there are plenty of spaces, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our Facebook page.

“This will be an incredibly fun family day out, with amazing talent from all of the local areas including Atherstone, Nuneaton, Hinckley and even Leicester.

“However, we’re not just looking for musical talent, we also want something to satisfy the taste buds so if you have any interesting or quirky food stalls and would like the opportunity to come along and help us out then please contact us on our Facebook page.”

Organisers are also looking for volunteers to help the event to run smoothly. Wristbands will also be on sale on the day for £2 to help funding for future events, and will be available for purchase in Atherstone’s shops throughout the day.
