Youngsters triumph in strong winds
YOUNG sailors from Hinckley triumphed once again at the National Schools Inland championships at Draycote Water last month.
Hastings High School student Harry Whitelegg from Hinckley took first place in the Topper fleet, battling strong winds and extreme weather to bravely complete a gruelling two days of competition.
Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Sailing Association (LRYSA) also took first, second and third places in the rookie fleet.
Ted Ball from Hinckley took first place, Harry Crane also from Hinckley took second and James Green - only eight years old - was the crowd’s favourite entertaining them with his cheeky antics.

A spokesman said: “The team’s success proves that although the team train at a small inland lake, talent and hard work will win through in the end.
“The team’s next big challenge is the National Schools Championships in July at Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire.” www.lrysa.org.uk
