BARWELL Cricket Club 1st XI were at home this week against Leicester Caribbean and won the toss and decided to bowl first
Barwell got off to a great start, reducing the visitors to 2-21 off the first 10 overs thanks to opening spells from Liam O’Rourke and Ben Betteridge, who both claimed a wicket.
Lee Skene (1-22 off eight overs) and Nick Hines (2-22 off 12 overs) then both bowled with great control through middle parts of the innings.
Leicester Caribbean were reduced to 5-71.

Despite going wicket less, £1 Chris Moore conceded just five runs off his 12 overs.
He was well supported by George Rolfe (2-11 off six overs), Liam Tillin (1-20), Sam Taylor (1-37) and some economical bowling from George Rowley and George Baker.
In reply, skipper James Dillon got Barwell off to a good start hitting a quick fire 21.
However, when he was out wickets began to fall at regular intervals and Barwell were largely thankful to Sam Fisher’s valuable 50 for their victory.
It was left to Georges Baker and Rolfe to take Barwell to their winning total of 103-6 off 28 overs.
