Trampoline girls in top competition
THREE girls from the Hinckley Trampoline Club took part in the Regional Team Championships competition at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena.
Amy Dronfield, Beccy Dean and Tia Robinson had qualified to be a part of the East Midlands team for this competition on June 17, by coming in the top two in their last regional competition.
A spokesman for the club said: “They had done exceedingly well to get this far and were excited, and nervous, about performing in such a large arena.”
Tia Robinson, in the 9 to 10 NDP 1 category, unfortunately landed one of the moves in her first routine on one leg, which meant a 0.00 score for that routine.
However, she went on to do a “brilliant second routine which put her 19th out of 24 - an amazing result for her first national level competition”.
Beccy Dean, in the 13-plus NDP 2 category, did “two brilliant routines and came 14th out of 26, in a very tough group where they were all performing to a very high standard”.
Amy Dronfield, in the 11 to 12 girls NDP 2 category, did “a brilliant first routine but a little wobble in her second routine.
“However, sheer determination got her through to the end of this routine and she was very pleased to come fifth out of 24 in this group,” the spokesman added.
By coming in the top eight Amy has now qualified to take part in the National NDP Trampolining finals, which take place in Telford in July.
Members of Hinckley Trampoline Club are currently fundraising for a new trampoline and looking for possible sponsorships for new competition wear (club T.shirts).
