Man jumps wall to escape after dispute in street

A PEDESTRIAN who got into a row with a car driver was injured after having to jump over a wall when the vehicle was deliberate­ly driven at him in Broughton Astley.

The man was forced to scale the obstacle to prevent being hit by the car which was heading towards him at speed.

Now police are appealing for witnesses to the shocking incident which happened between 8.10am and 8.20am on Leicester Road, near to the Spar shop.

One particular person is urged to come forward, a woman who was seen crossing the road as the events unfolded.

A Leicesters­hire Police spokesman said: “The victim sustained minor injuries after a car drove at speed towards him, which resulted in him having to jump over a wall.

“We know there were other people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident.

“We would especially like to speak to a woman who crossed the road at the time, as it’s believed she saw what happened.

“She has been described as white, of medium build, about 30-years-old. She was wearing glasses and had dark hair.

“If this was you or if you know anything about the incident we would like to speak to you.”
