Justice over Grenfell Tower should be about right and wrong and nothing else

-

FOLLOWING the horrific fire at Grenfell tower in London, the government have announced that NO tenant who illegally, sub-let their property in the tower will be prosecuted or have enforcement action taken against them. Why not ? All of those who sub-let are migrant,s who did not sub-let to another family or person, but to as many as they could get in, who were illegal migrants and made extortionate profit out of peoples misery.

If one follows the profile of the “sub-letters” then the norm is that they are not just sub-letting one property, but several others too, while they reside in other social housing, having made fraudulent application to do so!

It is ironic that, as the residents demand action against those they consider responsible, they are happy with this decision not to prosecute these people?

We will never know how many people lost their lives, or who they were, and as the residents demand this information, and accuse the authorities of a cover up, they are happy for those who brought this about to get off scot-free ?

I believe the government have taken this decision to try to prevent civil disorder, as left wing activists have moved into the area and are spreading alarm and fear, with fake news.

The council for Muslim lawyers has said it wants “one of it’s own” to head the enquiry, and there have been calls for the judge appointed to be removed for various reasons, including that he is “white and been to public school”.

This is a very dangerous scenario, with implications for the whole country, and I believe the demands of the residents are not only becoming unreasonable, but racist.

We saw in the child grooming and sexual abuse cases in the north, that authorities were unwilling to do anything because of the ethnicity of the offenders, and promises were given that, that would not be allowed to happen again; is that still the case?

As Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, and the Labour MP for the area, continue to condemn what is being done, what exactly are they doing to help? Jeremy Corbyn has pitched in blaming austerity, but this tower block had had £11 million spent on it, which does not resemble austerity!

To politicise a disaster is abhorrent, and if justice is to be done, then creed or colour should have no part, only right and wrong! Steve Vickers Hollycroft
