Simon Says music festival

MORE than 70 acts are set to appear at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall over the course of the two-day Simon Says festival this summer.

Former Public Image Ltd bassist Jah Wobble, famed for his close associatio­n with Jon Lydon and Sid Vicious, will be headlining at De Montfort Hall and gardens as will Fun Lovin’ Criminals’ Frank Benbini and Carter USM’s Jim Bob.

BBC 6 Music favourites Smoove & Turrell and Brit reggae band By The Rivers are performing during the weekend, Saturday and Sunday July 29 and 30.

Brand new acts for this year include The Tin Pigeons, a fourpiece indie-folk band from Hallaton, championed by BBC Introducin­g last summer.
