Recruitment drive for social care teams

-

NEW recruits are needed to help bolster teams looking after elderly people in Hinckley and Bosworth.

A campaign is underway to increase the number of people working within adult social care for Leicestershire County Council.

It follows the adoption of a new strategy for the county which focuses on keeping people well and independent in their own homes and the closer alignment of social and health services.

The authority is looking for experienced and qualified social workers, adult mental health professionals and community support workers.

A number of commissioning and strategic vacancies are also available which will play a vital role in the delivery of the new style service.

A spokesman said: “At Leicestershire County Council we want our staff to feel empowered and confident in using their skills to support vulnerable people, carers and families. Our focus is to promote, maintain and enhance people’s independence so that they are healthier, stronger, more resilient and less reliant on formal social care services.

“We are committed to improving the lives of vulnerable people and families but also the lives of our workers. We want you to learn and grow, both personally and professionally, placing continual learning and development within your chosen role as a main priority.”

Anyone interested can get more details and apply through the council’s website. An information event is also being held at County Hall in Glenfield, tomorrow, Thursday July 20 from 4pm to 7pm.
