Cheques offer life-affirming help

-

CHARITIES supporting people with life-changing illnesses have been helped by fundraisers in Market Bosworth.

The Rotary Club of Market Bosworth presented cheques for £1,050 each to Coping With Cancer and Wishes 4 Kids.

Both charities support people from across Hinckley and Bosworth, one running relaxation and support sessions for cancer patients and their carers and the other offering treats and trips for youngsters suffering life-threatening conditions or trauma.

The donations were made at a presentation dinner held at The Royal Arms in Sutton Cheney, attended by representatives of both causes.

Coping With Cancer runs drop-in sessions at St Francis Community Centre on Tudor Road, Hinckley, offering cancer patients and their carers a chance to talk to people who understand, seek advice and share experiences in a relaxing environment.

In addition to emotional and practical support, physical help is also offered in the form of complementary therapy, such as aromatherapy, reiki, reflexology, Indian head massage and Swedish massage, all aimed at relieving stress and discomfort and encouraging a feeling of wellbeing.

Forthcoming Time Out sessions are to be held from 1.30pm to 4pm on July 25, August 8 and 22, September 12 and 26, October 10 and 24, November 14 and 28, December 6 and 20.
