Elementary maze test

-

ELEMENTARY, my dear readers.

A popular visitor attraction has redesigned its award-winning maze to mark the anniversary of a world-famous fictional detective.

Designers at Wistow Maze have been inspired by Sherlock Holmes in order to get visitors to work out clues and solve how to get out of the labyrinth.

The eight-acre maize maze has been designed in the shape of the London sleuth to mark the 130th anniversary of the first novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Since his first case in 1887, Sherlock has fascinated millions by solving the most inexplicable of crimes.

Now visitors can put their own detective skills to the test, collecting clues as they go through the ‘Whodunnit’ themed quiz trail.

Hidden among its three miles of paths are high level bridges and towers giving panoramic views.

Visitors can also take part in a variety of mini mazes and games in the Activity Funyard, which includes a space hopper track, hoopla, beanbag throwing and a football shooting game.

Across the road is the Wistow Rural Centre with its cafe, garden centre, art gallery, model village and shops - so there’s plenty to do on a day out in Wistow.

Wistow Maze is a winner of Leicestershire’s “Best Visitor Attraction” and attracts more than 20,000 visitors each year.

The Maze will be open daily from Wednesday, July 19, to Sunday, September 3, then weekends only until Sunday, September 17. Opening times are 10am to 6pm.

Parking is free. For more information, including admission charges, visit www.wistow.com, or call 07884 403889.
