Consecutive defeats for Barwell 2nds

BARWELL 2nd XI suffered a second consecutive seven-wicket defeat away to Ratby 2nd XI.

Having lost the toss, Barwell were asked to bat first and suffered early wickets leaving the away side 23-2 off the first four overs.

Josh Moore managed a quick-fire 20 before John Morley (32) and Sam Taylor (25) started to rebuild the innings for Barwell.

The middle order continued to contribute with Matt Welsh (17) and Srinivasan Parthasarathi (13) helped push Barwell to 129 all out.

In response, Ratby start- ed well preventing Barwell any early breakthrough with the two openers scoring 57 and 41 respectively.

Wickets started to come late on with Matt Welsh taking 2-14 and Srini with 1-8 but it was too little, too late for Barwell as Ratby reached their winning total of 131-3 in the 29th over.
