Joy as shooting star gets fourth national call-up

-

ENGLAND international clay shooter Joy Hirons, from Stoke Golding, has just won her fourth successive England Cap following a busy competition period.

Joy recently travelled to Northern Ireland and successfully defended her Ulster Open title for a third year running and then followed that up with a trip over the border into the Republic of Ireland and successfully defended her Irish Open title, also for a third year, returning on the ferry with some nice silverwear.

This was closely followed by a trip down south to Dartford in Kent and the English Open, where after a thrilling shoot-off following a tie, Joy finished on the rostrum taking the bronze medal.

Finally another weekend was spent down south, this time at Bisley in Surrey, where after a gruelling and very testing two days of shooting, Joy won her fourth England Cap where, as part of the 22 strong England Team will be travelling back to Dungannon in Northern Ireland in August to take part in the 2017 Home International.

Before that happens Joy has the English Open Doubles, the Welsh Open and the British Open all to train and shoot for beforehand.
