Family friendly festival set to mark 10th anniversary

STOKE Golding has plenty to celebrate this August Bank Holiday, as it hosts the 10th annual StokeFest music festival.

Taking place on Sunday (August 27), this outdoor event features bands, musicians and vocalists, from across the area who dedicate their time and talent to raise money for good causes.

StokeFest is a locally organized festival which was established 10-years ago to raise money for local charities.

The event has raised thousands of pounds over the years, thanks to the support not only by musicians, but by the community.

Organisers say the festival is a day out for all of the family, with a fully licensed bar, a wide variety of vendors and loads of wonderful things to eat.

There’s also plenty of entertainment for the kids.

The focus of the day is the music, and this year StokeFest is bringing more live entertainment to the stage than ever before, with a return to the two-stage arrangement.

The main stage will host the bands, while the second stage will be dedicated to acoustic and vocal performers.

Headlining the festival, StokeFest is delighted to welcome Black Star Bullet, a rising Coventry rock band which toured the UK last year and has just released a new album called Our Own Noise.

Last year’s headline act The Boo’d Ons will be back, while Dirty Water, fronted by Steven Picker, will be making their StokeFest début.

Other acts include Still Thirsty, The Audio Monkeys and Take It From The Top, with vocalists Morgan Per- kins, Brenda Whittaker and drumming sensation Tyler Bosworth all making appearances.

The venue opens at 12.30pm. Live music starts at 1pm. Donations to charity are welcomed.
