Smiles all round as students open their exam results at Hinckley Academy as well as other borough schools
PUPILS and staff from Twycross House School were delighted with their 100 per cent pass rate for A levels, with 90 per cent getting A*-C grades.
The school entered 31 students, taking a total of 96 A levels across 18 subjects.
A* grades made up 20 per cent of the results, while 46 per cent were A* to A, and 73 per cent were A* to B.
Two pupils are off to Oxbridge universities: Tomas Moghadam is studying physics at Christ Church College, Oxford, and Euan Tebbutt, who achieved five A*s and one A, is reading maths and physics at Jesus College, Cambridge.
Euan also won a gold medal this summer at the International Physics Olympiad in Indonesia and a bronze at the International Olympiad in Informatics, in Tehran.
Also among the A*/A achiev- ers were Eleanor Christon, who will be studying biochemistry at Birmingham University; Bronte Dufour, who will read International Relations at St Andrews, and George Pickens, who will study chemical engineering at Bath.
Headmaster Steve Assinder said: “We are immensely proud of these outstanding results, which are a credit to the students, their supportive parents and of course our teaching staff.
“These results are testament to the great industry and dedication of the young people we teach, and I am so pleased that the students have also continued to experience such broad and varied opportunities.
“Many of our Upper Sixth leavers have been at Twycross House since the age of four.
“It is with great pride and confidence that we send them off to their bright futures, and we look forward to celebrating their success at our presentation evening in November.”
