Lack of foreign workers is causing us problems

-

IT seems to have bypassed the notice of hardened brexiters - and their bible, the unspeakable Daily Express - that the brexodus of EU workers is having and will have serious consequences for our services and production.

The brexiters are so steeped in their own xenophobia - and, yes, racism - that they welcome brexodus, never stopping to think that it could well mean: - longer queues and waits in pubs and restaurants; not having a cheap and steady supply of fruit and vegetables; not having houses built to schedule; not having home improvements done; not having ready and adequate care and treatment in hospitals, care homes and their own homes - and a host of problems yet to arise in other sectors of the economy.

It is absurd to have a target of reducing migration if there are no indigenous workers ready and willing to take over.

If employment is at record levels with lots of vacancies unfilled, then it stands to reason that British malingerers, still on benefits, are going to do everything in their power to avoid doing, for the minimum wage, the difficult and often back-breaking jobs done by migrants.

Is it not obvious to everyone but narrow-minded brexiters and to Theresa May et alia that Britain should have precisely as many migrant workers as the country needs - and that targets conjured out of thin air to appease the readers and owners of the Mail, Express, Star and Sun are meaningless and self-harming?
