Open day as firm moves into new workshop

A JEWELLERY workshop in Burbage is holding an open day as it expands into a new outlet.

Thorpe and Brown Jewellery Workshop is moving into a larger premises at the Taragon Business Centre, on Coventry Road in Burbage.

The new space will be used for teaching facilities alongside the business’ shop and jewellery services.

Jo Thorpe, director and goldsmith at the company, said: “Moving to the new premises on Coventry Road is just a dream come true.

“We have the space we need to fulfil our true potential of selling beautiful jewellery, and offering every service imaginable, from watch repairs to bespoke commission­s.

“We are true jewellery specialist­s, with combined years of jewellery knowledge and expertise.”

The open day is open to any members of the public, with refreshmen­ts provided.

There will be a prize draw, with the top prize being a spa day for two.

Children can also pick up some sweets jewellery making kits, plus some goody bags and freebies for the first customers.

Discounts on ring making workshops will also be available for anyone who signs up for one, on the day.

Ms Thorpe said: “Our open day is a chance for us to show people around the amazing new space, showcasing our stunning new ranges of jewellery.

“We’ll also introduce customers to the teaching workshops, where they will have the chance to book a space making their very own special piece, or even to make their own wedding rings.”

Ring making workshops are already arranged for the last few months of this year, with Ms Thorpe showing how to create a sterling silver ring.

The workshops start at 9.30am with tea and coffee, and the session includes a buffet lunch.

Ms Thorpe started the business five years ago at a premises in Stutt Road in Burbage, and it now has five employees.

The open day is happening on Saturday September 9 from 9.30am to 5pm.
