New Theatre Players are to perform Rough Justice. Terence Frisby’s gripping courtroom drama. Television journalist James Highwood has made his career out of challengin­g the British Justice system in his documentar­y programmes.

Leicester Grammar School present a Big Band Evening. The Leicester Grammar School Big Band and its singers presents a concert of big band numbers from Swing Era favourites to the present day.

The Ultimate Queen Tribute. Almost 26 years after Freddie Mercury’s death the rock band’s music is still as popular as ever. As Queen’s music is so diverse it appeals to everyone.

The Tinhatters are performing Gypsy at the Concordia. Loosely based on the true life memoirs of legendary burlesque entertaine­r, Gypsy Rose Lee, Gypsy tells the tale of Momma Rose and her two daughters…

October 12-14

The Opera Project performed by Stanley Opera. Sister Angelica (a stunning little tragedy) and Gianni Schicchi (a wicked little comedy) Take your pick. A choice of performanc­es offering you the chance to see two of Puccini’s marvellous one act operas performed as a double bill or performed individual­ly with an hour of great new concert music.

October 25-28

The Great Gatsby is being performed at the Concordia by the Broughton Astley Drama Society. The glittering decadence of America’s Jazz Age is brought to life in this stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiec­e. Seen through the eyes of Nick Carraway, the story recreates the sights, sounds and feel of America’s ‘Roaring Twenties’ in a brilliant evocation of a society obsessed with wealth and status.

November 7 -18

The Concordia AOS performs Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. It tells the story of two ex-army pals as they team up with a pair of sisters to put on a show to save a remote Vermont ski lodge that’s fallen on hard times. Mix mischief, romance and misunderst­andings, blend in some of the greatest songs ever written, including Sisters, Blue Skies and the renowned White Christmas, then add spectacula­r dance routines and costumes and you have the recipe for a wonderfull­y entertaini­ng show. You will leave the theatre with your feet tapping and with that inimitable Christmas feeling. It is based Upon the Paramount Pictures Film.
