Dominant show sees Hinckley win by teatime

HINCKLEY entertaine­d second in the table Sileby 2nds on Saturday and won emphatical­ly by eight wickets.

Sileby won the toss and elected to bat but were soon in real trouble being 10-3 after only three overs.

First to go was Charity, caught Avish Patel bowled Suki Singh for one and then fellow opener Yates was bowled by Hinckley captain Raj Sen for three.

Legg was third out caught by Abrar in the slips off the bowling of Sen for 0.

Sileby managed to get to 21 in the 10th over at which point Khan was bowled by Singh for one.

One run later Singh bowled Ruddle for 0 leaving Sileby reeling at 22 for 5.

Number three Simon had put up some resistance but was caught Valand, bowled Sen for 13 making the score 26-6.

With brilliant bowling and attacking fields the visitors found themselves 48-9 after only 23 overs.

A last wicket stand of 20 between Blay and Imgram took the score onto 68 when Imgram was caught by Assad Phathan bowled Avish Patel for 11.

Sileby were all out for 68 in the 31st over.

Suki Singh’s bowling figures were 12 overs, three maidens, 4-31, and Raj Sen 11 overs, seven maidens, 4-10, a very impressive performanc­e from Hinckley’s opening pair.

Avish Patel took the other two wickets.

Hinckley had a slight wobble chasing the 69 to win being 17-2 but a third wicket stand of 52 between Abrar 24 not out and Avish Patel 29 not out saw Hinckley home in the 17th over.

The game finished at 4pm when tea was taken. Hinckley gained 25 points from this game and remain fifth in the table still 35 points behind second placed Uppingham.

Next week they host Cropston.
