-

IT IS beer time later this week as the 10th annual festival takes place in town.

Hinckley and Bosworth branch of the Campaign for Real Ale will be hosting the event at the Atkins building on Lower Bond Street from Thursday September 14 to Saturday September 16, when it will run from noon until 11pm each day.

A marquee behind the venue will accommodate live bands on Friday and Saturday evenings and make space for more drinkers.

More than 70 real ales will be available including Bass, M&B and Worthington, plus original recipes from Heritage Brewing Co and LocAles from across Leicestershire and Warwickshire including some from breweries which have only begun production this year.

In addition, there will be 25 ciders and perries, 13 fruit wines and, for the first time, bottled foreign beers.

All drinks can be obtained using tokens paid for at the entrance, along with commemorative glasses and a Three Brewers programme to buy and keep for £3, with a £2 refund for returned glasses.

Non commemorative pint glasses will also be available and all beers will be sold in pints, halves and thirds.

Entertainment will be povided on Friday by 1960s-to-1980s cover band All Or Nuthin and on Saturday by up-tempo Celtic band The Craic.
