Roll out the bar­rels for this week’s beer fes­ti­val

IT IS beer time later this week as the 10th an­nual fes­ti­val takes place in town.

Hinck­ley and Bos­worth branch of the Cam­paign for Real Ale will be host­ing the event at the Atkins build­ing on Lower Bond Street from Thurs­day Septem­ber 14 to Satur­day Septem­ber 16, when it will run from noon un­til 11pm each day.

A mar­quee be­hind the venue will ac­com­mo­date live bands on Fri­day and Satur­day evenings and make space for more drinkers.

More than 70 real ales will be avail­able in­clud­ing Bass, M&B and Wor­thing­ton, plus orig­i­nal recipes from Her­itage Brew­ing Co and Lo­cAles from across Le­ices­ter­shire and War­wick­shire in­clud­ing some from brew­eries which have only be­gun pro­duc­tion this year.

In ad­di­tion, there will be 25 ciders and per­ries, 13 fruit wines and, for the first time, bot­tled for­eign beers.

All drinks can be ob­tained us­ing to­kens paid for at the en­trance, along with com­mem­o­ra­tive glasses and a Three Brew­ers pro­gramme to buy and keep for £3, with a £2 re­fund for re­turned glasses.

Non com­mem­o­ra­tive pint glasses will also be avail­able and all beers will be sold in pints, halves and thirds.

En­ter­tain­ment will be po­vided on Fri­day by 1960s-to-1980s cover band All Or Nuthin and on Satur­day by up-tempo Celtic band The Craic.
