Rock night for Macmillan nurses

-

STOKE Golding Liberal Club will be hosting a rock night in aid of the Macmillan nurses fund charity on Saturday, September 23.

Friends Ray Boorman and Rob Grewcock, who are organising the event, will be performing on the evening.

Ray will be opening the gig with a solo set and Rob’s Status Quo tribute band ‘Quoted’ will follow straight after. Altogether, they’ll be playing four sets.

Ray said: “I have witnessed first-hand the wonderful work these people do. They offer free advice, find out what you are entitled to financially at a time when your mind is in a daze, help you with medication issues, give wonderful moral support when you are at your lowest ebb: nothing is too much trouble.

Rob also noticed this when his father was ill with cancer. Everyone you speak to either knows someone or is related to someone with this horrible illness.

The gig is just a small way of being able to give something back and say thank you for the help they give to others.”

The event starts from 8 pm until late. Tickets cost £5 each and can be bought by contacting Rob on 07789 837842, email at robertgrewcock@yahoo.co.uk or on the door at £6 each.
