Consultation to take place about ministry

-

A CONSULTATION is taking place in Sheepy Magna about the rural ministry of the Church of England.

The open consultation meeting follows on from the Bishop of Leicester’s visits to parishes in Leicester Diocese.

A series of meetings are being organised by the bishop’s Rural Commission, to identify opportunities to fulfil the diocese’ mission of being Shaped by God.

There will be a chance to celebrate the stories of rural churches in Leicestershire, and to identify places witnessing to the deep wells of the Christian story or manifesting God’s good provision as green pastures.

The Very Reverend David Monteith, Dean of Leicester, said: “These will be structured public meetings with opportunities to feed in stories and raise matters which the Commission may explore further.

“We have endeavoured to organise them in a variety of venues.

“Anyone is welcome at any of these meetings.

“If you cannot make the one scheduled near to you, then please come to another one.”

Feedback be sent to the dean by email, at david.monteith@leccofe.org, with emails marked ‘Deep Wells and Green Pastures’.

You can also send a letter to: Deep Wells and Green Pastures, St Martin’s House, 7 Peacock Lane, Leicester, LE1 5PZ.

Correspondence must be sent in by December 31.

The Sheepy Magna consultation is happening at All Saints Church on November 15, from 7.30pm to 9.15pm.
