Masquerade ball will help to make dreams come true

-

MAKING wishes come true for children fighting for their lives is the aim of a fundraising spectacular being organised by a Hinckley mum-of-four.

Emily Gatherum, 27, is putting on a charity masquerade ball in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation.

The event takes place on Saturday November 18 at Hinckley Rugby Club and features a sit-down meal, entertainment including magician and a disco.

Tickets cost £25 and Emily hopes to arrange a raffle to boost funds further.

She said: “I have done coffee mornings before to raise money for charities like Macmillan and other cancer charities. I thought I would like to help the Make A Wish Foundation because it is such a worthwhile cause and I was keen to do something with a social element so people could come out and have a good time.

“This is my first venture of this size and it’s a bit of a challenge juggling this with looking after my four children at home but all seems to be going well so far.”

The full-time mum, whose children are all under six, is being supported in the event by husband David who works for National Grid.

She added: “I’m just looking to put the word out and get people interested. It would be wonderful too if local businesses were to help with any raffle prizes.”

The Make A Wish Foundation helps make dreams come true for youngsters aged three to 17 who are battling life-threatening illnesses.
