Venue reopens with a string of live performances

-

A POPULAR pub in Burbage has re-opened under new management.

Cross Keys on Hinckley Road has been taken on by business partners Daniel Keicher and David Leith, less than a month after it closed down.

The new managers plan to spruce up the venue with a new lick of paint, and are planning to bring in new standard and fine dining menus.

They also hope to renovate the Cross Keys’ garden area.

Previous staff members at the pub will be making up the bar team, with a staff manager and head chef from one of the duos’ other pubs coming over.

Mr Keicher and Mr Leith own several pubs and venues, mostly in the South West.

Mr Keicher said: “We’re always on the look out for new places.

“We came to Burbage to have a look and we thought it was a really beautiful village, so we’re very glad to be taking it on.”

The Cross Keys closed suddenly last month with an announcement from the previous landlords on Facebook.

Regulars reacted with dismay at the loss of the popular community pub.

The venue re-opened last Wednesday and has hosted a string of live performers since including Britains Got Talent Finalist Pippa Langhorne and Eva Jacobs from The Voice.

A new menu has also been revealed with new dishes as well as old favourites and Sunday lunches.

The Cross Keys is open from noon to 11.30pm, Sunday to Thursday and from noon to 1.30am, Friday and Saturday.
