Hazlo is described as an urban streetware range

AN INNOVATIVE clothing line is coming to Hinckley, thanks to a budding entrepreneur.

Jake Rundle, 16, has created Hazlo clothing, an urban streetwear range aimed at children and young people.

The first orders are already coming in for his branded T shirts and hoodies, with caps and beanies planned to be added to the line.

Trafford Knitwear in New Street and Hope Hinckley on Station Road have signalled interest in stocking the apparel.

Leicester Riders were also recently introduced to the clothes and said they would be interested in plugging them.

Rachel Neale, Jake’s mum, and her husband, have been supporting the project.

She said: “He started doing designs about a year ago, and he was adamant that he wanted to start his own clothing range.

“He found the branded clothes in the shops were always too expensive, so he started playing around with his own style.

“He wanted a brand with a positive message for young people.”

Hazlo is Spanish for ‘Do It’, a phrase that often came up when Jake was learning Spanish and talking with his relatives who live in Spain.

Jake is meeting with Valencian street artist David de Limón in October, to talk about featuring his signature ninja emblem on a limited edition of the Hazlo range.

All the clothes designed so far are for boys and men, although the adult T shirts and hoodies are suitable for both men and women.

The amateur entrepreneur has been working full time over the summer to raise funds for his enterprise, and he will be donating five per cent of profits to Chron’s and Colitis UK.

Alongside his business endeavours, Jake will soon begin studying IT at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.

More information is available on the Hazlo Clothing Facebook page, the @Hazlo_ clothing Twitter account, or on Instagram. To place an order send a private message through the Facebook page. UNWANTED board games and other table-top pursuits are wanted by a community centre in the borough to entertain the elderly and frail.

Markfield Community Centre on Mayflower Close in the village hosts clubs for older and infirm people who enjoy playing games like snakes and ladders, chess, crib and dominoes.

However, the games at the centre have seen better days and group leaders are appealing for people to see if they have any they could donate.

Ron Grantham, at the centre, said: “Members of all the Mayflower clubs really enjoy playing board games.

“Unfortunately the games that we have were previously used by our old youth clubs and they are now rather old and tatty with many pieces missing.

“We are wondering if people have got some unused board games cluttering their homes that they would like to get rid of for a worthwhile cause.

“We just ask that they are complete, in good condition and adult size.”

Among the centre users who like to spend time playing games are members of a Friendship Club which meets on Mondays from 2pm to 4pm, a Mayflower Club for older and vulnerable people from the community which meets on Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm and a new Good Times Together Club which meets on the third Friday of each month from 10.30am until noon.

Anyone able to spare a game is asked to take it to the centre or arrange for it to be collected.

Call the centre on 01530 242240 or email markfieldcomunitycentre@ hotmail.co.uk
