Kingscroft end on a high note
A RARE victory at Birstall which gave them the double over their opponents ended Kingscroft Bowls Club’s midweek squad’s season.
The Earl Shilton bowlers won by 17 shots, due largely to a 33-10 romp for Darren Delahay’s team of Bob York, Nolan Davies and David Orton which included a six, five and four.
Malc Bates’ rink of Mitch Irving, Dulcie Heath and Wally Rogers could not quite match that but scored a four and six to twice come back and eventually win 25-19.
Three fours proved decisive for Mick Haywood’s men Brian Marston, Nev Wood and Mick Harris in a 23-13 result but there were defeats on the other two rinks skipped by Jeff Langton (11-28) and Geoff Colllett (18-23). Results: Kingscroft (midweek) beat Birstall (away) by 17 shots:
