Tank fun firm gets armed forces award
A LUTTERWORTH firm has been recognised for its commitment in supporting the armed services community.
Armourgeddon Ltd has been awarded a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award.
Awards are given to companies which have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, employ at least one member of the armed forces community - either military service leavers or spouses of military families - and show flexibility towards annual training commitments and mobilisation.
Armourgeddon, which offers tank paintball battles, is one of three Leicestershire businesses to receive the award.
Catherine Suckling, assistant regional employer engagement director, said: “It is important to recognise the commitment of each of the employers from Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands in supporting service personnel and their spouses, veterans or cadet force adult volunteers in the workplace.
“Each organisation recognises the valuable skills and experience that those undertaking military training can bring back into the workplace. I am delighted that each of the organisations have been recognised for the positive work and I look forward to continuing to build our relationship over future months.”
Each of the organisations will be invited to a formal presentation event in November where they will receive a certificate to be displayed in their place of work.
