Eight borough entries in Good Beer Guide

-

EIGHT pubs and clubs from across the borough have earned entries in the 2018 editions of Camra’s Good Beer Guide.

Branded the beer-lovers’ bible, the UK’s best-selling pub guide is produced for the Campaign for Real Ale with listings based entirely on the evaluation of its members.

This year’s updated edition launch coincided with Hinckley Beer Festival, hosted by the Hinckley and Bosworth branch of Camra at the Atkins building in Lower Bond Street.

Special guest, Camra chief executive Tim Page, who attended the event, presented copies of the book and awards marking their entries to some of the licensees whose hostelries are featured.

Hinckley micro-pubs Elbow Room Ale and Cider House and The Pestle and Mortar both appear for the first time as does The George and Dragon in Stoke Golding.

Hinckley pubs The New Plough and The Queens Head are also featured, along with The Lime Kilns and the Constitutional Club in Burbage, and The Rising Sun in Shackerstone.

They are among 4,500 pubs and clubs across the UK recommended for serving the best real ale.

Now in its 45th edition, the guide also lists every brewery - micro, regional and national - that produces real ale in the UK, and their beers, along with tasting notes compiled by Camra-trained teams.

It is available priced £15.99 from Camra’s online shop and as a sat nav app.
