Hinckley Times - - FRONT PAGE - Email hinckleytimes@trinitymirror.com

THE HINCKLEY Times is on the hunt for the town’s best shop - and we need you to get voting.

Our Top of the Shops campaign is looking for town centre customers to get in touch so that we can crown Hinckley’s favourite store.

From vintage treasure troves to pretty boutiques and toy stores, we think that the town has all sorts of hidden gems - and we’d like to hear from you.

If you have a shop which you cannot live without, or a favourite you have to visit each time you enter town, then let us know by nominating your top Hinckley store.

We have teamed up with Wonderful Hinckley, Hinckley BID and Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to run the awards, which will celebrate all that is special about our town.

And it will be run in conjunction with our competition to find the best place for food called Best Bites 2017. Details of this are below.

Steve Wegerif, from Hinckley BID, said: “With the festive season just around the corner, we want to encourage Hinckley to shop locally - and we hope that these awards will help everyone to realise the amazing array of shops we have right on our doorstep.

“Hinckley truly has something for everyone, and we also have a great spread of independent stores, too.

“If you have a favourite shop within the town centre, then please nominate them - we want to use these awards to recognise all that is good within Hinckley.

“Whether it’s a clothes store, a sweet shop or a gift boutique, if you have a favourite, let them know by getting in touch and nominating!”

The shops with the most votes will then be put into a shortlist of eight.

The shortlist of stores will then be encouraged to have their fans and customers vote for them once more as we search for the winning shop to crown.

Bill Cullen, chief executive of the borough council, said: “This competition is a great opportunity to showcase the great quality and diversity of offer of shops, restaurants and cafes in Hinckley. We would encourage you to enter and tell us who your favourites are”

Samantha Hadadi, from Wonderful Hinckley, said: “Many people don’t realise how many fantastic shops we have here in Hinckley.

“Take a stroll through the town and you’ll find all sorts - jewellery shops, gift stores, toy shops, record stores, and even health food stores. You never know what’s hidden around the corner!

“Hopefully these awards will help people to realise what we’ve got - and cele- brate the best of the best.”
