Santa golf day for char­ity at bor­ough course

KEEN golfers are be­ing in­vited to join snooker leg­end Wil­lie Thorne for a Santa’s golf day.

Over the last few years, the Strictly Come Danc­ing star has played golf with over 120 golfers to raise money for Rain­bows Hos­pice.

This year’s Santa’s Golf Day event will once again be held at the For­est Hill Golf Club, based in Botche­ston, on Wednesday Novem­ber 15.

It gives snooker lovers and keen golfers the chance to meet and play golf with Wil­lie as well as raise money for an ex­cel­lent cause.

Spec­ta­tors are also wel­come event, which starts from 9am.

The course is a full hand­i­cap Stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion with ex­cel­lent prizes, and the en­try fee in­cludes soup, sand­wiches, mince pies and mulled wine.

A spokesper­son for the event said: “Play­ers will be given a Santa Suit and must wear it to play. This adds to the fun el­e­ment of the day and also to the dif­fi­culty of play­ing com­pe­tent golf!

“This is a great day of fun, Wil­lie is a keen golfer and is look­ing for­ward to meet­ing all the play­ers.

“Please make a spe­cial ef­fort to make up a team of four and join in the fun and, im­por­tantly, to also help Rain­bows.”

Wil­lie will also be run­ning a hi­lar­i­ous char­ity auc­tion, with all money raised go­ing to Rain­bows.
