HINCKLEY’S Ashby Canal legend Doug Dimbleby has enjoyed an excellent summer, and it continued when he won the Pete Hogg Memorial series, scoring a maximum twenty points.

Doug clinched victory with a win in Saturday’s final round, his third win in a row!

Fished along the Conkers length, Doug fished bread punch to catch 25 small roach for a winning 2lb 1oz catch.

John Gamble came second with a 1lb 4oz catch with Pete Wytecherle­y finishing third with 11ozs.

League runner-up was John Gamble with 16 points. Ian Stone finished third with 14 points.

Higham Lane’s Fishery Thursday Open was won by Terry Sanderson who pole fished pellet on peg 17 to weigh 52lb 9ozs.

Paul Hooson came second with a 42lb 8oz catch with Ian Knowles a close third with 42lb 4ozs.

Brookfield’s Open match fished at Stoke Golding was won by Paul Morris who pole fished paste on peg nine to weigh 33lb 12oz catch. Fred Walker came second with 25lb 12ozs with Stu Campton finishing third with 15lb 14ozs.

Karl Downing took the honours in Mayne’s Lakes mid week Open, with a 30lb 5oz catch on pole fished pellet.

Results; Section One, Pool One, Colin Bent 16lb 9oz, peg 32. Section Two; Darryl Moore 20lb 14ozs peg 24. Section Three Pool Two; Tom Watt 20lb 14oz peg 2. Section Four; Karl Downing peg 19.

Shackersto­ne Members Wardle Cup match was fished along the Pop- ular’s section.

Phil Baker landed 52 small roach for a winning 3lb 10oz catch.

Kevin Cooper included a 1lb plus bream in his second placed 1lb 12ozs catch.

Doug Dimbleby weighed 1lb 9ozs of small perch and roach for third place.

There was a good turn out and improved catches for Plough Angling Club’s latest contest on the River Avon at Ryton.

Tony Slater landed three good chub, two caught on float fished caster, the other on legered worm, to finish well clear with a 9lb 4oz catch.

Ian Stringfell­ow weighed 4lb 12ozs for second place while Ted Howard finished third with 4lb 7ozs.

Lychgate Fisheries Saturday Open match was won by Andy Findley who used his potting a method feeder tactic to finish well clear with 60lb 11ozs.

John Varley finished second using traditiona­l pellet feeder tactics to finish with 28lb 14ozs.

Higham Lane Fishery have an Open match every Thursday, draw 9am and there’s also an Open match this Saturday, again draw at 9am.

Lychgate Fisheries have Open matches/ Lychomania Qualifiers on Saturday, draw 9am and Sunday draw 12.30pm.

Brookfield have an Open match on Sunday at Stoke Golding. Draw 9am.

Shackersto­ne have an Open match this Sunday, draw 7.45am at the Rising Sun.

Maynes Lakes have an Open match every Wednesday, draw 10am.

Lychgate Fisheries have an Open match every Wednesday, draw 9am.
