League ta­ble start­ing to take shape for ta­ble tennis teams

G WARD D con­tinue to set the pace in Divi­sion Two of the Ta­ble Tennis league.

Their re­cent match ver­sus Cat G saw the Bar­well side run out win­ners by eight sets to two.

In­spired by a Roger Hill max­i­mum, team­mates Ol­lie Wynne and Cal­lum Dale col­lected two win apiece and the dou­bles to se­cure the 8-2 win.

Dael Sid­well took two wins for CAT G but was pushed close by Wynne in a five set game just emerg­ing vic­to­ri­ous 11-8 in the fifth.

In their next match away at Cat D, Hill was again in form win­ning three with the Wynne broth­ers Matt and Ol­lie tak­ing two sets each and the dou­bles. Steve Crutch­ley putting in a fine per­for­mance, win­ning two for Cat D.

Hit’n’Hope are giv­ing G Ward D a run for their money, tak­ing a com­fort­able win against Mkt Bos­worth 2 by 10 sets to nil.

Bryan Moy­lan (H’n’H) was man of the match with three wins.

Leanna Ban­croft (Mkt Bos 2) went close to win­ning her first set against Mal­colm Seal; she won her first two games 11-7 and 14-12 be­fore los­ing the next three 8-11, 7-11 and 7-11.

Hit’n’Hope re­tuned to Mkt Bos­worth for their next match against Mkt Bos1 col­lect­ing an­other white­wash win by 10 sets to nil to fur­ther their chal­lenge for top spot.

Mar­ket Bos­worth 1 fared bet­ter in their next match col­lect­ing three points cour­tesy of a John Veasey max­i­mum, fi­nally los­ing three sets to seven to Cat H.

Queen’s Bar­well over­came Cat F by eight sets to two.

Steve Law­ton (Queens) win­ning his three. Phil Wood took a brace for Cat F.

Cat E did lit­tle bet­ter in their match with G Ward C los­ing 2-8.

Bob Pick­ers­gill tak­ing a max­i­mum, for the Bar­well side.

G Ward F took all ten points in their match with Mkt Bos­worth 2.
